Media PRODUCTION and Broadcasting

Extras

Born in FIS, 2012

2012- today

In 2012 a small group of interested volunteers began the FIS Media Production club and prepared to broadcast the ISST Varsity basketball tournament for the first time in the history of FIS....FIS TV was born!

What started out as a plan to broadcast basketball for the school has developed into something much more. The volunteers club began recording concerts, plays, other sports event, presentation evenings and more. Through support and training from Alumni and parents an impressive portfolio of interview, book and film reviews, short films and official functions has been developed. The Schools graduation broadcast is completely student led and managed.

In 2014 a class for Media Production and Broadcasting was introduced and FIS TV's Thursday Night Live and Lunchtime Live launched. Now a full class of students works in this exciting program to produce the schools News and Current events. Sport tournaments are still filmed and broadcast by the afterschool volunteers club.

FIS' commitment to enhanced learning and industry preparation is shown through this and other courses offered in their 10-12 grade program.

VOLUNTEER HERE!

The Media Production and Broadcasting program at FIS has developed due to the outstanding support of student and parent volunteers. The faculty and staff are also highly supportive of this program and though this volunteerism the project has been able to grow.

The Media Production and Broadcasting program actively seeks the help and expertise of parents, students and faculty on the many occasions that Live broadcasting is taking place.

The younger students generally sign up for a semester within the REAL program but the older students use this project as part of their CAS commitment to the curriculum.

Our most common request for live broadcasting or recording events occurs after hours - concerts are generally in the evenings and Sports events are on weekends.

FIS TV Live and Fist5media need your help!

If you are interested in volunteering to be part of this program please contact Mr. Pete Sinclair - your help will be gratefully accepted!
